At LUNA, we're committed to creating a healthier, more sustainable world.
So, why is organic so important to LUNA?
We know that our health depends on the planet's health. Growing, making and eating organic foodfood produced without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, synthetic hormones, or genetically modified organisms is better for our families, our communities and our world.
As a business focused on women's health, we're devoted to acting responsibly and reducing our environmental impact in everything we do. This begins with the ingredients we choose for our products. Our goal, is to produce the most delicious, nourishing organic foods for our consumers, while supporting healthy farms and farmland that can be sustained for the long term. We strive to promote health by becoming a food business that works in harmony with the laws of nature, a company that is helping to create a more sustainable food system. It's a lofty goal and a long journey, but we're committed to this path.

A note from Elysa, our Ecologist:
Moving toward sustainability is an exciting, dynamic journey that has affected everything we do as a company. We began this program on Earth Day 2001 when Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford, the owners of LUNA and Clif Bar & Company, launched a company-wide environmental program and I came on board to help. Today we have a sustainability team in place with environmental initiatives found in every department of our company.
Food matters. We understand that as a food company, we're in a special position to create a healthier world through the products we make and the partners and causes we support. That's why our transition to organic is so important to us. When you eat organic, you're multi-tasking for a better world. Organic agriculture protects our food, air, water and wildlife from exposure to toxic chemicals. Organic farming fights global warming and preserves biodiversity. Organic food helps reduce people's exposure to pesticide residues.
You've got the power. We want women to recognize their power to protect and nurture the environment. As women, we wield immense purchasing power in the decisions we make every day about foods, personal care products, clothing, and cleaning supplies we choose. These choices are directly connected to the health of our bodies, our communities, and our planet. Take a moment to find out what we all can do to make a difference in our lives. Eating organic is great start.
